Monfort collaborates once again with the Peñíscola International Jazz Festival 2025
Transportes Monfort and Transportes Belda are once again collaborating with the 22nd Peñíscola International Jazz Festival, which this year takes place from July 2 to 6 at the Palau de Congressos and Plaza Santa María in Peñíscola.
Transportes Monfort, in its more than 90 years of service in national and international road transport, is a clear example of professionalism, flexibility, innovation, and respect for the environment. It is also a clear example of commitment to its own territory, promoting Castellón’s position on the map with prestigious events such as the Peñíscola International Jazz Festival, with which it has been a partner practically since its inception.
The opening ceremony will take place on Wednesday, July 2, at 10:30 p.m., with renowned pianist and singer Champian Fulton, one of the most prominent figures in contemporary jazz, swing, and elegance, accompanied by double bassist Alex Gilson and drummer Armando Luongo.
Then, on Thursday, July 3, at 7:30 p.m., the Festival kicks off with free open-air concerts in Plaza Santa María with the charismatic singer Gisele Jackson and The Shu Shu’s Trio. Also on Thursday, July 3, at 10:30 p.m., the stage of the Palau de Congressos in Peníscola will host a concert by the Renato Chicco Organ Trio. Chicco is one of Europe’s foremost exponents of the Hammond organ. The artist will be accompanied by Castellón-born guitarist Fernando Marco and drummer Pepi Taveira.
On Friday, July 4th, at 10:30 pm, Cuban saxophonist and flautist Alexey León will perform at the Palau de Peñíscola. His Continental Quintet will be presented by a special guest, Perico Sambeat, the jazz saxophonist considered one of the leading figures on the current Spanish scene.
On Saturday, July 5th, at 7:30 pm, Peñíscola’s Plaza Santa María will host a performance by SAIO, an innovative Barcelona-based group that is revolutionizing the contemporary jazz scene. Then, at 10:30 pm, the Palau de Congressos will welcome Mozes Rosenberg, Paulus Schaffer Trio & Costel Nitescu, a unique evening of manouche jazz featuring four leading figures of the genre.
The Peñíscola International Jazz Festival will conclude on Sunday, July 6th, with two concerts. On the one hand, the Plaza Santa María stage will welcome Julio Montalvo & The Cuban Collective with “Amics de Sempre” at 7:30 p.m., a moving concert alongside their fellow bandmates, their Latin Jazz band. Marc Copland, Stéphane Kerecki, and Fabrice Moreau will close the 22nd edition of the Festival at the Palau de Congressos on Sunday, July 6, at 10:30 p.m. On piano, the legendary Marc Copland, with over 40 acclaimed albums and major collaborations, will be accompanied by double bassist Stéphane Kerecki and drummer Fabrice Moreau, renowned for his versatility and sensitivity.
